The Legacy has a Kindle Edition

I figured “what the heck” and published the first issue of The Legacy last night through Kindle Direct Publishing. It’s still available at nerdunion.us in the weekly column Friday Fiction, but I figured for those who’d prefer to have a self updating copy should have one too.

It’s on sale right now for $2.99, but that one purchase will give you the entire first book (or season. I haven’t decided what to call it yet). You can find it here.

If you like it, please review it (but give your honest opinion). There will be a new chapter uploaded each week.

Enjoy!

Here’s the skinny on The Legacy

This has been a long journey for me. I started writing when I was just a kid, dreaming up adventures to make my normal, mundane life a little bit more interesting. Currently I’m a full time dreamer, and part time writer, and as much as I’d like to see both become full time, that will have to wait. In the meantime, I have a story that I have to get out of me and into the world. To that end I will be writing this book, The Legacy, as a weekly serial. The reason I chose this path is because it is exponentially quicker and easier to release. At first I tried writing a rough draft of a book from beginning to end. It was finished two years ago. I have that same book ready to go sitting on my desk that is so riddled with edits that it will take me a year to type them all in, so for now it’s been abandoned.

This book however, is going to be different.

In order to make the timetable solid I have written the first act of the book in its entirety and will release a chapter a week (every Friday) through my website, and through a update to the Kindle Edition. These updates will keep coming until this work is finished. Once finished I anticipate it should be around 150,000 to 200,000 words in total, but it will the first installment of a series. I anticipate it being no longer than four books and no less than two. I have an outline for the whole series, but as Tolkien said it may grow in the telling. You can stay up to date with me at my personal site ( www.jamesknelson.net ), or on the various social media ( twitter @jk_nelson). Stay tuned, and I hope you enjoy.
